Kes Stefanik was born in the village of Ravena, NY. She is a graduate from Cazenovia College with a BFA in Fine Art Photography. She also minored in Studio Art and Art History. Kes has had her work displayed in multiple group shows including in the Deacon Gallery at Cazenovia College and the Stone Quarry Art Park. In May of 2025, she completed her MA in Liberal Studies where she specialized in documentary photography and grief studies at Empire State University.

She specializes in people photography, which consists of portraiture, documentary, and environmental photography. She also has experience in photographing weddings as she has worked with wedding photographers in Syracuse, NY. Her portraits are displays of visual story telling and give an understanding to human relationships and emotions.

Kes is currently working on building a new program called Picture Grief where she will be facilitating spaces for people to create art as a way to communicate about grief as well as researching how different cultures express and experience grief. Stay tuned for updates!
