My camera gear! Also known as my children.

I am of the group of people that believes that it doesn't matter what gear you use, it's about the skill you have that makes the best images. There are thousands of different camera types out there, and I learned about how overwhelming it was early on in my photography ventures. People would ask, "What are you shooting with?", "What's your fps (frames per second)?", and "But can you camera do this? (Insert something my camera probably could do, but I didn't have the energy to prove it here)". We have also all fallen prey to saying and being victimized by the phrase, "Wow, your camera is really good!". Pardon me while I cradle my camera in a dark corner and cry. My truth is cameras are good because of the skill the person using it has. Photos are good (and bad. And yes, there are bad photos out there.) because of the skill that people have to create them. That may not be your truth, but it is mine.

With all that being said, I'm going to show you my three main cameras (that are not attached to my phone) that are part of my regular carry.

Camera 1: Canon 6D Mark II

My mom bought me this camera for Christmas when my first camera (Canon Rebel T5i) was starting to become a little aged and wasn't holding up to all I needed to use it for anymore. I was a junior in college and this was my first Christmas without my dad. I was dreading the holidays so badly, then my mom whipped out this bad boy and made the day a little more bearable (Thanks Mom. <3).

It's a full frame DSLR and this is my primary. I remember Canon starting to release their R5's pretty soon after I got her, and I'll admit, I had a little bit of gear envy. But my 6D and I work really well together and mirrorless cameras kind of scare me.

Camera 2: Polaroid OneStep 2

Another Christmas gift, my husband bought me my Polaroid for our first Christmas together back in 2017. It's light blue and adorable and feeds all of my "vintage aesthetic" needs. I will say, I understand why Polaroid film is so expensive (just like all other film), but oh my gosh. I wish I could use my Polaroid everyday, but I don't make nearly enough money for that yet.

Camera 3: Nink Newlink DV537

I'm now realizing that all of my main carries were gifts.

Anyway, my grandmother got me this camera for my sixteenth birthday. It's a camcorder and she got it for me because I wanted to do vlogs on YouTube. I never ended up using it for vlogs then, I just kind of used it for capturing the little moments around me. Now, I use it for some of my Voice Notes videos on YouTube (that I finally started making). But hey, if you want me to post vlogs on YouTube, please feel free to let me know.

The cameras I use are the best choices for me, not only because I like using these the most, but because they fit my work and I can create the aesthetics I want using these cameras. Use what ever cameras work best for you, because at the end of the day, it's about your talent and your skills that make the best images.

If we're talking lenses however -
